The two best squads of each conference are clashing today in this high caliber duel, when the East leaders Atlanta Dream (14-9), who are looking to extend the longest active winning streak currently in the league, are hosting the West leaders Seattle Storm (18-6), who have also been red-hot having lost only once in their last nine games.

Date/Time: 07-22-2017 15:00 EDT

Spread: Atlanta Dream +1.5

Total: +163.5

Atlanta Dream have a 14-9 record (14-9 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit on the first place of the East. They have won seven of their last eight matches and in their last game they won at home against the New York Liberty with an 82-68 score, beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Tiffany Hayes with 17.5 ppg, adding 3.4 boards per game. She is followed by Angel McCoughtry with 16.4 ppg and 6 boards per game, while Renee Montgomery adds 10.1 ppg and 3.2 dimes per game.

Seattle Storm have an 18-6 record (14-9-1 against the spread) so far this season currently sit in the first place of the West and the whole league. They have won eight of their last nine matches and in their last game they won on the road against the Connecticut Sun with a 78-65 score, beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Breanna Stewart with 22.3 ppg, adding a team high 8.1 boards per game. She is followed by Jewell Loyd with 16.3 ppg, 5.1 boards and 3.8 dimes per game, while Natasha Howard adds 13 ppg and 6.5 boards per game.

In their two previous meetings earlier this season each team has won on the road. In the previous Atlanta game, the guests won with an 86-95 score. Atlanta are 8-3 at home this season, while Seattle are 8-2 on the road. Storm have the second-best offense in the league, scoring 87.3 ppg to Dream’s third-worse of 78.9, while both teams have almost identical defenses, allowing 79.1 and 79.5 ppg being third and fourth-best in the league. Dream have the worse percentages in the league both in field goals, shooting with 40.7% to Storm’s 46.8% and in 3-pointers, shooting with 30.1% to Storm’s 35.6%. Storm are also better in assists made (20.9 to 17.5) and in turnovers committed (13.8 to 14.3), while Dream are only better in rebounding (36.5 to 35.1). It is going to be a close game and Vegas odds give the Storm a -1.5 spread but don’t expect them to beat the odds and pick Atlanta for the home victory.
