In this all-Eastern showdown, the third and fourth best teams of the conference are clashing, when the fourth Chicago Sky (10-19), looking to end a small losing streak, are hosting the third Connecticut Sun (17-12), who want to extend a lengthy winning streak of their own.

Date/Time: 08-10-2018 21:00 EDT

Spread: Chicago Sky +9

Total: +175

Chicago Sky have a 10-19 record (12-17 against the spread) so far this season currently sit on the third to last place of the East and of the whole WNBA. They have back-to-back losses and in their last game they lost at home against the Minnesota Lynx with a 74-89 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Allie Quigley with 16.1 ppg, followed by Diamond DeShields with 13.4 ppg and 4.8 boards per game. Courtney Vandersloot adds 12 ppg, 3.7 boards and a team high 8.4 dimes per game.

Connecticut Sun have a 17-12 record (14-15 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit on the third place of the East. They have five consecutive wins and in their last game they won on the road against the Dallas Wings with a 101-92 score, beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Chiney Ogwumike with 14.4 ppg, adding 7.3 boards per game. She is followed by Jasmine Thomas with 12.7 ppg, 3.2 boards and a team high 4.6 dimes per game, while Courtney Williams adds 12.6 ppg, 6.2 boards and 3.3 dimes per game.

In their previous meeting earlier this season Connecticut won easily on the road with a 72-110 score. Chicago are 6-9 at home this season, while Connecticut are 8-8 on the road. Connecticut have the third-best offense in the league with 87.2 ppg to Chicago’s 82, while Chicago have the worse offense in the league, allowing 89.8 ppg to Connecticut’s 81.5. Connecticut also have better percentages both in field goals, shooting with 46.4% to Chicago’s 44.3% and in 3-pointers, shooting with 36.7% to Chicago’s 36.1%. They are also better in rebounding, grabbing 36.9 to Chicago’s 32.7 and in turnovers committed (13.6 to 15.5), while Chicago are only better in assists made (20.3 to 19.7). Connecticut have destroyed Chicago in their previous matchup on the road and Vegas odds give them a -9 spread and expect them to beat the odds once again for another easy victory.
