In the only game of day 2 in the 2018 WNBA season, two teams that finished in the bottom three places of the Eastern Conference and none participated in the playoffs are clashing, when the Indiana Fever, who were second to last in the whole league last season, are hosting the Chicago Sky.  WNBA Chicago Sky vs Indiana Fever Spread and Prediction.

Date/Time:  05-19-2017 13:00 EDT

Spread: Indiana Fever -2.5

Total: +156.5

Indiana Fever finished last season with a 9-25 record (14-19-1 against the spread). And the Fever finished the campaign with the last place mark in the East. As well they closed last season with the second to last mark in the entire league. Only San Antonio Stars had a worse record in the whole WNBA (8-26). They had eight consecutive losses to close out the 2017 season. They were led in scoring by Candice Dupree with 15 ppg, adding a team high 5.8 rebounds per game. She was followed by Erica Wheeler with 11.8 ppg and a team high of 138 total assists, while Shenise Johnson added 11.3 ppg.

Chicago Sky finished last season with a 12-22 record (15-19 against the spread) and were tied with the Atlanta Dream in the second to last place of the Eastern Conference and third to last in the whole league. They finished last season with four consecutive losses. The Sky were led in scoring by Allie Quigley with 16.4 ppg. She was followed by Stephanie Dolson with 14.5 ppg and 5.8 rebounds per game. Courtney Vadersloot added 11.5 ppg and a team high of 218 total assists.

Fever led the Sky 2-1 wins last season with each team having won on the road. The last game in Indiana ended with a 70-81 score for the Sky. Fever were tied for the second-worse home record last season with 6-11, while Sky had a better record on the road than at home (8-9 on the road, 4-13 at home).

Team Sky were better offensively, scoring 82.1 ppg to Fever’s second-worse of 75.1, while Fever are better defensively, allowing a third-worse of 84.3 ppg to Sky’s second-worse of 87.2. Sky have better percentages both in field goals (46.1% to 42.9%) and in 3-pointers, shooting with a league-best of 37.5% to Fever’s second-worse of 30.9%. Sky are better in rebounding, grabbing 33.8 to Fever’s league-low of 28.2 and in assists made, with a league-best of 21.1 to Fever’s league-low of 15. Fever have been one of the weakest squads in the league last season and Vegas odds give Fever a -2.5 spread but don’t expect them to beat those odds and pick Sky for the road win today.
