Two teams sitting on opposite sides of the Eastern Conference table are clashing today, when the second-worse New York Liberty (7-22), who want to end the lengthiest losing streak of the league, are hosting the first Atlanta Dream (20-10), who are red-hot having lost only once in their last fourteen games.

Date/Time: 08-12-2018 14:30 EDT

Spread: New York Liberty +5

Total: +160

New York Liberty have a 7-22 record (11-18 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit on the second to last place of the East and of the whole WNBA. They have eight consecutive losses and in their last game they lost at home against the Seattle Storm with an 80-96 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Tina Charles with 19.9 ppg, adding a team high 7.1 boards per game. She is followed by Kia Nurse with 8.7 ppg, while Epiphanny Prince adds 8.4 ppg.

Atlanta Dream have a 20-10 record (20-10 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit on the first place of the East and second in the whole WNBA. They have won 13 of their last 14 games and in their last game they won at home against the Los Angeles Sparks with a 79-73 score, beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Tiffany Hayes with 17.6 ppg, adding 3.4 boards per game. She is followed by Angel McCoughtry with 16.5 ppg and 6 boards per game, while Renee Montgomery adds 9.5 ppg and 3.6 dimes per game.

In their two previous meetings earlier this season each team has won at home (Atlanta by 14 points and New York by 7). New York are 4-12 at home this season, while Atlanta are 8-6 on the road. Phoenix are better both offensively, scoring 84.8 ppg to New York’s second-worse 78.1 and defensively, allowing 83 ppg to New York’s third-worse of 84.8. Phoenix have better percentages both in field goals (45.3% to 43.2%) and in 3-pointers (35.2% to 32.3%). They are also better in turnovers committed (13.6 to 14.8), while New York are better in rebounding (33.7 to 32.2) and both teams dish almost the same number of assists per game (20 and 19.9). Atlanta are one of the hottest teams in the league right now nad Vegas odds give them a -5 spread and expect them to beat the odds for the road victory.
