The Pittsburgh Penguins have maintained their National Hockey League future odds to win the 2018 Stanley Cup throughout a hit-and-miss campaign. Their recent form has them gaining momentum and stirring up water cooler chat that they will eventually overtake the Washington Capitals for the top spot in the Metropolitan Division. Odds to Win 2018 Stanley Cup: Penguins hold firm at 8-1.

Washington sits in first place in the Metropolitan with a 32-17-6 record (70 points). The Penguins are 31-22-4 (66 points) just four-points behind the Capitals after a 7-2-1 mark in their last 10 events. If there are any questions about the wherewithal of how the Pens compete in the closing stages of a season one might glance at their combined 36-15-5 record across the past two years, from mid-February to the close of the regular season slate.

Future Hall of Famer Sidney Crosby is money once mother nature presents the coming of spring. Crosby averages close to a point-and-a-half per-game during his career in March and April. Crosby and the Pens Penguins have two consecutive second place finishes in the Metro. The Capitals have trademarked the ability to win their division and fail miserably in the postseason.

There aren’t many cupcakes left on Pittsburgh’s remaining schedule but with the semi-tough slate of games that the Pens need to navigate comes with the opportunity to improve their current slot in the standings and their Sir Stanley seed.

The Tampa Bay Lightning remain the favorites to win the East. The Bolts sport 9-to-4 odds but the World’s Largest Race and Sportsbook rate the Pens second on the Eastern Conference Futures chart at 7-to-2. The Bruins come in on the latest WestGate update at 4-to-1 followed by the Capitals and Toronto Maple Leafs at 6-to-1.

Despite the overview of the SuperBook’s odds that seemingly favor one of the Eastern bunch raising Sir Stanley’s Cup in June it is the Western Conference where the largest amount of team talent lies. The Nashville Predators and Vegas Golden Knights top the Western Conference chart with 3-to-1 odds.

The Odds to Win the 2017-18 Stanley Cup at WestGate show the Lightning at 5-to-1, the Golden Knights and Predators at 6-to-1, and rounding out the Top-5 have the Bruins and Penguins 8-to-1.

WestGate of Las Vegas updates for the 2017-18 Stanley Cup, Eastern and Western Conference Championships are as follows:

Odds to Win 2018 Stanley Cup: Penguins hold firm at 8-1
