The CG Technology Race and Sportsbooks have released odds for the first 16 weeks of the 2018 NFL regular season. Following a Thanksgiving holiday weekend of National Football League action for many franchises the postseason begins in Week #13. (2018 NFL Regular Season Odds for Weeks #2-16 from Vegas Complete List). NFL Week 13 Odds: Texans -10 vs Browns.
There will likely be a number of team’s needing to win out or find victory against division rivals in the final four weeks of the regular season. The AFC South projections have the Jacksonville Jaguars dominating the division. However that is far from a given with a team that has a number of offensive challenges heading into the 2018 campaign.
Texans rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson missed a number of games a season ago to injury. But the dual threat quarterback offers the Houston fan base optimism that they can once again compete for a South title.
Defensively, the Texans hope that J.J. Watt can return to his Pro Bowl form after a laundry list of injuries in his career. Watt told the local media that he was optimistic about returning to active duty but admits that injuries which limited the three-time defensive player of the year the past two seasons has taken a toll on his physical and mental well being.
Linebacker Whitney Mercilus told the Houston media a week ago that he was “100 percent, no doubt.” Mercilus was cleared to return without limitations in early April. Mercilus played just five games before a torn pectoral muscle ended his 2017 season.
With free agency and the draft completed and OTAs and minicamps scheduled for the next month and a half the questions that surround the Cleveland Browns roster are ridiculously plentiful. And it begins with the Browns quarterback position. Tyrod Taylor, Drew Stanton, Baker Mayfield and Joel Stave will battle for depth chart slots.
With the team selecting Oklahoma Sooners Mayfield with the overall No #1 selection the position has undergone a complete overhaul from what it was in 2017. Mayfield, according to the Browns front office, is the quarterback of the future. The organization currently plans on Taylor being the starter.
Cleveland should be better than the 0-16 team it was last season but the CG Technology Sportsbook team has positioned the Texans as double-digit favorites (-10) for the Week #13 contest against the Browns.
