Two teams sitting outside the playoff positions of their respective conferences are clashing today, when the Brooklyn Nets (19-38), who have been terrible lately and looking to bounce back, are hosting the Los Angeles Clippers (28-26), who saw a winning streak end and want to return to the winning ways.  Los Angeles Clippers vs Brooklyn Nets Spread and Prediction.

Date/Time:  02-12-2018, 19:30 EDT

Spread: Brooklyn Nets +4.5

Total: +218.5

Nets have a 19-38 record (33-24 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit on the third to last place of the East. They have lost nine of their last ten matches and in their last they lost at home against the Pelicans in overtime with a 128-138 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by D’Angelo Russell with 15.6 ppg, adding 3.8 rpg and 4.4 assists per game. He is followed by Rondae Hollis-Jefferson with 14.3 ppg and 6.5 rebounds but he is out with an injury. Spencer Dinwiddie adds 13.7 ppg and a team high 6.7 assists per game.

Clippers have a 28-26 record (29-24-1 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit in the 9th place of the West. In their last game they saw a three-game winning streak getting snapped by losing on the road against the Sixers with a 98-112 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring Lou Williams with 23.3 ppg, adding 5.3 assists per game. He is followed by Tobias Harris with 18 ppg and 6.2 rebounds, while Danilo Gallinari adds 15.8 ppg.

In their two meetings last season, each team managed to win at home (Nets by 5 in overtime and Clippers by 32 points). Nets are 10-18 at home so far this season, while Clippers are 12-14 on the road. Clippers are better both offensively, scoring 107.5 ppg to Nets’ 105.5 and defensively, allowing 106.9 ppg to Nets’ 109.6. They also have better percentages both in field goals, shooting with 46.22% to Nets’ league-low of 43.58% and in 3-pointers, shooting with 35.2% to Nets’ 34.65%. Nets on the other hand are better in rebounding (45.4 to 43.8) and in assists made (22.5 to 22.1). Nets are absolutely terrible even with Russell back in the lineup and Vegas odds give Clippers a -4.5 spread which they are expected to beat for the road victory today.

Los Angeles Clippers vs Brooklyn Nets Prediction: Los Angeles Clippers -4.5 (-110)
