The Italian Serie A season came to an end in May with Juventus hoisting the title for a 7th straight season and they made the news this offseason with the biggest signing of the summer as Cristiano Ronaldo joined the old lady of Italy from Real Madrid.  Now while the signing of Ronaldo should have sent the bookmakers to adjust the title odds of Juventus winning an 8th title it really hasn’t (see odds below).

The signing of Ronaldo was/is an indication of the Italian side going ALLIN on winning the coveted Champions League title this season and with a couple of weeks left in the summer transfer window (at the writing of this article) there are rumors of additional moves. While the Juventus odds to win the Serie A title seem lower than expected it can be attributed directly to the CL competition and the premise that Ronaldo will be rested on weekends prior to a CL game much like he was last season for Real Madrid and with the loan of goal scoring Gonzalo Higuaín to AC Milan they could seemingly drop enough points to make the title race that much closer. One team to look at is Inter Milan. A coaching addition and upgrade last season made them a much more disciplined side and they currently possess a good midfield and attack and are likely the best of the rest here and could take the title away from the black and white for the first time in 8 seasons.  Regardless, this season shapes up to be another enjoyable one and check back here at Wagertalk Soccer News to get weekly articles on the upcoming Serie A weekend along with some Free Play predictions.
