Free Horse Racing Picks: Gulfstream Park for March 31, 2016:

Race 1-

5- Black Jet (7/5 ML) Claimed out of a win here 2/26 and dropping today for trainer Kelly Breen. Jock upgrade to Paco Lopez who guided this one to his maiden win in December 2014

6- Rockmeagain (4/1 ML) dropping today after two less than stellar performances, gets a bug today and ran a great number here on 1/31 at this distance

3- Luv Dakota Style (6/1 ML) won here two back with a good performance and followed that up with a poor start last out, expect him to run back to that performance two back at a lower level today

Race 2 –

6- Wildcat Gaze (8/5 ML) shortening up and making her third start off a long layoff for the Cibelli barn today which is winning with 23% of her claiming entries

1- Kentucky Dancer (3/1 ML) making third start off a layoff for the Romans barn (21%) and gets Lanerie in the irons who has been hot as of late

2- Little Caton (6/1 ML) won here two back at a mile, shortening up today and fired a nice 4f work on 3/26

Race 3 –

5- Starship Hostility (1/1 ML) was the soundly beaten favorite here last out on 3/9 after dueling on the lead the most of the trip. Jaramillo gets another shot in the irons with this one today and should benefit from the experience of that last ride.

7- Hot (5/2 ML) quick turnaround for this filly who finished poorly last Thursday here in just her second career start off a long layoff on the turf. Trainer Dane Kobiskie is 16% turf to dirt and 22% second off a layoff so expecting a good performance from this one today

1- Misty Phyllis (7/2 ML) four-year-old filly has yet to find the winner’s circle but has performed better recently and John Cruz returns to ride today from the inside post which has been good so far this meet

Race 4 –

2- Bridge of Luck (3/1 ML) not sure what to make of this four-year-old colt out of Giant’s Causeway who has never lived up to his billing in his short career. Has not raced since 7/4/15, but regular works for trainer Michael Matz leads us to believe that this one will be ready today

1- Forever Admiral (8/1 ML) drops to the claiming ranks for the first time today for trainer Juan Rizo who is 18% with this move historically

5- Cavity (5/2 ML) second off the claim (23%), second off a layoff (28%) for Cibelli this gelding has been the runner-up in his last three outings and should be ready to fire today

Race 5-

6- Papa Bravo (6/5 ML) makes a huge drop to this level today for Romans barn (23%) and has been off since an appearance at Churchill last November, but this one looks like he only needs to beat the 5 to win in this group

5- Aventus (3/1 ML) another big dropper here, this one for Sano (21%) who moves him back to dirt after trying turf in his last two outings

2- Absinthe (4/1 ML) four-year-old colt is making his debut here today for trainer Servis who wins 23% of his Maiden Claiming entries, not sure what to expect from this one today but Dam produces winners
Race 6-

5- Are We Not Men (1/1 ML) this gelding has not won since October 2014, but makes a big drop today to this level and gets Castellano in the irons who should provide a good trip for this one who has improved numbers in his past two starts

7- Smokey Brown (4/1 ML) won here last out and steps up to this level today, retains Saez and is fast enough to beat the others in here

1- Dreaming of Frank (5/1 ML) this colt is stretching back out today and is only seeing this distance for the second time in his career. Coming in off a short layoff for the Petro barn who will have this one ready to fire today

Race 7-

5- Holy Scat (5/2 ML) second start off the claim for Cibelli (23%), this filly has been the beaten favorite in her last two outings but put forth a good effort in last

1- Mobilize (7/2 ML) although the sample size is small, trainer Abreu has won with both his entries making their third start off a layoff which this mare will be doing today as well as making a drop to this level

10- Beeline (6/1 ML) filly makes her third start off a long layoff for Romans (21%) and will have Lanerie up today so expect a good trip

Race 8- (wide open race, spread here if you are playing multi-race exotics)

2- My Good Venezuela (5/1 ML) filly broke her maiden last out here on 1/21 and was then given a two month break before returning today for Tessore, if there is no rust she can win again today with Jaramillo in the irons

12- Crystal’s Cantata (10/1 ML) unsuccessful in her last outing with stakes company, but won both races prior and drops to this level today

11- Overdramatic (4/1 ML) claimed out of a win here last out on 3/9 for Plesa who wins 24% first off the claim. Stepping up today, but Castellano will ride and should provide a good trip

Race 9-

6- Ring Knocker (5/1 ML) coming in off a two plus month layoff for Albertrani has worked regularly during the layoff and was a hard charging fourth in her last outing at this level

5- Hows My Gold (3/1 ML) filly has hit the exacta in 8 of 11 career races and won last out here at this distance on 2/28

1- Novique (4/1 ML) broke her maiden here at this distance on 2/17 and returns today with Castellano up again

Race 10-

4- Letuspray (2/1 ML) drops to Maiden Claiming today for Caramori (33%) and retains Castellano to ride at the lowest level this colt has seen since last September when he was beaten by a head

1- Ferlin Husky (6/1 ML) moving from Maiden to Maiden Claiming for Mott today (25%) but sprint specialist may not be able to get the distance today. Regular works during recent layoff lead us to believe they were prepping this one for today.

5- Sanad (4/1 ML) has hit the board in his four most recent starts including both here with Juarez in the irons, should be coming late.
