Free Horse Racing Picks: Gulfstream Park for March 10, 2016:

Race 1-

2- Thunder Run (5/2 ML) throwing out this geldings last start as historically has shown a propensity to close

3- Peter Castleboy (2/1 ML) not sure why this one is the morning line favorite other than the fact that this is a really bad race but someone has to win

7- Colorado Daydream (7/2 ML) this seven-year-old gelding might wake up on the drop to this level again, or it might not, once again, just a bad race.  Spread if you playing the early Pick 5 here.

Race 2 –

6- Boheme de Lavi (2/1 ML) First off the claim for the Tessore barn, Velazquez will ride today and this one appears to be better than the rest in here

4- True Blue Nation (5/2 ML) second off the claim, tried turf last out and finished far back this mare, who hasn’t raced since December, will appreciate the return to the dirt today

3- Sherry Angel (8/1 ML) this mare hasn’t been seen since August where she was last seen with a good stretch run versus better, recent works look like she is ready

Race 3 –

5- Right On Ready (9/5 ML) second off the claim and returning to a level where he previously found success, this one won four straight while playing musical barns since November

6- Keepin It Zeal (2/1 ML) this gelding was last seen here on 2/28 finishing third in a fast race where the winner came back to win his next out, a similar performance can win this today

3- Rockyshomerun (5/1 ML) won last out at Tampa on 2/24 after not finding much success recently over the Gulfstream surface, a good break is going to be key for this one

Race 4 –

7- Impressive Way (5/1 ML) dropping to this level for the first time, the addition of Saez in the irons could provide the experienced trip that this one needs to break his maiden today

4- Palace Rhythm (7/2 ML) Pletcher and Castellano are hitting at a 23% clip over the past 60 days and the Pletcher barn in winning at a 35% rate with first time maiden claimers

1- Star Charlie (4/1 ML) first off the claim for Gonzalez (24%) plus stepping up in class (31%) today this one likes to set the pace but stamina is a question

Race 5-

5- Warranty (4/1 ML) Brown and Castellano on turf, this one was the favorite in his debut here on 1/21 but finished a distant 7th, regular works since her debut lead us to believe Brown will have her ready today

4- Determined Lady (2/1 ML) this filly has hit the board in her past six starts all with Panici who ride again today

2- Colonel Nina (10/1 ML) made her debut on the dirt for the Romans barn on 2/11 and raced towards the front until running out of gas late, stretching out today (19%) and trying the grass for the first time today
Race 6-

7- April Rose (3/1 ML) lost by a neck last out at this level on 2/17, adding blinkers today may help

4- My Little Darlings (7/2 ML) making second start for the red hot Jorge Navarro barn, this one has hit the board in her past 7 starts

5- Blavastki (4/1 ML) this filly failed against tougher last out but has had success at this level previously and picks up Leparoux who hit the board with more than ½ of his mounts in the past week

Race 7-

7- Quaver (7/2 ML) making first start off a 9 month layoff this one is making a big drop and picks up Castellano today, regular works indicate she will be ready today

6- Aquinnah (5/2 ML) this eight-year-old is still running strong and is making her third start off a layoff today after seeing stakes competition in her last two outings

2- Meetmeforsasmoke (5/1 ML) coming in off a four month layoff this one has hit the board in five of her past seven races and picks up Jaramillo who has been riding like a man possessed this meet

Race 8-

6- Dean’s Ticket (7/2 ML) this one led from the start until the top of the stretch last out before getting rundown two back with Castellano in the irons, expect him to go to the front again today and hold on this time

7- Candida (5/2 ML) Pletcher trainee is making her second career start (28%) and showed a late kick in her debut, the experience will help today

1- Res Ipsa (15/1 ML) had a rough debut clipping heels with a competitor on 2/19, gets Lasix today and an inside post, expect to see improvement today

Race 9-

3- Pursuing Fate (3/1 ML) Maker and Castellano historically have hit 23% when teaming up and this one won her last race on 1/27 off a layoff for these connections

5- Lucky Switch (7/2 ML) coming in off a 54 day layoff, but has worked consistently since that race and should be ready today

4- Fond of Sarah (9/2 ML) looked outclassed in last out versus better, but should thrive with class drop today.  Has three wins in seven career Gulfstream starts.

Race 10-

4- Fan Base (8/5 ML) won past four outings for the Jorge Navarro barn and appears ready to make it five in a row today

6- Whisper Onthe Wind (4/1 ML) won last out at this level here and retains Lanerie in the irons, will need another late kick to challenge here

1- Escondido (5/1 ML) this one has hit the board in all four of his claiming races since November and only missed the board when trying stakes company

Race 11-

12- Variety of Colors (3/1 ML) returns to sprint today after trying and tiring when trying a route, Cibelli wins at a 33% rate and hits the board 50% of the time when making this move
7- Value Baby (4/1 ML) improved to second last out in only her second career start, likes to set the pace and should be able to maintain stamina for today’s sprint

2- Arc de Nua (5/1 ML) ships in for the Nevin barn (23%) and making a big drop today (29%) off an 8 month layoff this one should find the drop welcoming
