In this all-Western showdown, two teams with different goals for the season are clashing, when the rebuilding Phoenix Suns (18-38), looking to end another losing streak, are hosting the Denver Nuggets (29-26), who are fighting for a playoff spot and want to bounce back after their latest defeat. Denver Nuggets vs Phoenix Suns Spread and Prediction.

Date/Time:  02-10-2018, 21:00 EDT

Spread: Phoenix Suns +7.5

Total: +219

Suns have an 18-38 record (26-28-2 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit on the third to last place of the West. They have lost nine of their last ten matches and in their last game they lost at home against the Spurs with an 81-129 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Devin Booker with 24.3 ppg, adding 4.4 rebounds and a team high 4.8 assists per game but he is out with an injury. He is followed by TJ Warren with 19.5 ppg and 5.2 rebounds per game.

Nuggets have a 29-26 record (25-27-3 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit on the 8th place of the West. In their last game they saw a three-game winning streak getting snapped by losing on the road against the Rockets with a 104-130 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Gary Harris with 17.6 ppg, followed by Jamal Murray with 16.6 ppg. Nikola Jokic follows with 16.5 ppg and team highs both in rebounding, with 10.6 per game and in assists made, with 5.5 per game.

In their two previous meetings earlier this season, each team won once (Suns on the road by 8 points and Nuggets at home by 23). Suns are 9-20 at home, while Nuggets are 7-19 on the road. Nuggets are better both offensively, scoring 106.9 ppg to Suns’ 104.2 and defensively, allowing 106.4 ppg to Suns’ league-low of 112.5. They also have better percentages both in field goals, shooting with 46.29% to Suns’ 44.04% and in 3-pointers, shooting with 36% to Suns’ second-worse of 33.33%. Nuggets are also better in rebounding, grabbing 44.9 to Suns’ 44 and in assists made, with 24.1 to Suns’ 21. Nuggets are the favorite for the win and Vegas odds give them a -7 spread but don’t expect them to beat the odds as Suns will force a closer game than that.
