The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook released a number of College Football Playoff props for New Years Day action, but they missed an important one: How many times will Baker Mayfield’s illness be mentioned? (Kidding). For the Rose Bowl, Georgia’s team total has been set at 31.5 with the Sooners projected at 29 points. Mayfield’s completion total opened at 21.5 with his touchdown total at 2.5.

In the Sugar Bowl, Alabama’s team total opened at 25 with the Clemson Tigers at 22 points. One number that jumped out to me was Hunter Renfrow under 47.5 receiving yards. 1) Renfrow has only topped 47 receiving yards once in his last six games, so he’s not exactly entering the Sugar Bowl on a huge run. 2) After last year’s defeat, if there’s one player on the field that Nick Saban won’t let beat him (again), it’s Hunter Renfrow. Unless he’s able to generate a big catch-and-run, I don’t see him reaching that mark.
